As part of FESTUR Huatulco 2026, cleanup efforts were held at Santa Cruz Beach and La Entrega Beach, with participation from various sectors committed to caring for and preserving our coastal areas.
At Santa Cruz Beach, 49 kilograms of waste were collected: 33 kg of inorganic waste and 16 kg of organic waste. Participants included ZOFEMAT, street vendors, Centro Escolar Huatulco, and ACREIMEX. At La Entrega Beach, 29 kilograms of waste were removed: 20 kg of inorganic waste and 9 kg of organic waste. Cleanup activities were also carried out in nearby areas and the mangrove, with participation from ZOFEMAT, street vendors, Huatulco National Park, tour operators, and the general public.
These efforts help prevent waste from reaching the sea, protect the flora and fauna of coastal ecosystems, and strengthen shared responsibility among authorities, service providers, residents, and visitors.
