Water Sampling at La Bocana Beach

Water Sampling at La Bocana Beach

The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, through ZOFEMAT and COFEPRIS, conducted water sampling at La Bocana beach to assess its sanitary quality.

Within the framework of the national project "Monitoring of Seawater for Recreational Use with Primary Contact," the Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, presided over by Eng. Julio Cárdenas, through ZOFEMAT and in coordination with the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (COFEPRIS), carried out sampling at La Bocana beach, as part of the follow-up to the high results previously recorded in this area.

This sampling aims to evaluate the sanitary quality of water intended for recreational activities such as swimming, diving, and other water sports, in order to protect the health of users and ensure safe conditions for enjoying the coastal environment.

It is important to note that COFEPRIS and ZOFEMAT are the only officially authorized and recognized institutions to carry out this type of monitoring on beaches, in the context of permanent public health surveillance and certification processes.

With these actions, the Municipal Government's commitment to the safety, well-being, and sustainability of the beaches of Bahías de Huatulco is reinforced.
