The Municipal DIF honored Huatulco’s longest-lived residents during the 2026 Older Adult Coronation.

The Municipal DIF System, headed by Lic. Jazmín Villar, took part with great emotion in the Coronation of the Older Adult as part of Grandmothers and Grandfathers Week 2026. During this heartfelt gathering, held at the DIF Bahías facilities, well-deserved recognition was given to Mrs. Hermelinda Ruiz, from Bahías de Huatulco, and Mr. Felipe Vázquez, from the community of La Erradura, for being the municipality’s longest-lived residents.

On behalf of the institution, Lic. Jazmín Villar expressed her deep gratitude to everyone who joined efforts to make this space, filled with affection and respect, possible for those who represent the roots, memory, and example of strength of our families. She also extended a cordial invitation to the community to continue participating in the activities scheduled throughout the week to honor their legacy.

Furthermore, through events of this kind, the organization reaffirms its commitment to dignifying older adults by promoting spaces for fellowship where cherished memories can continue to be created and the lives of those who have contributed so much to our community can be celebrated.
