The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco held the opening ceremony for the 2026 Blue Flag Audit, formally launching the evaluation process for the municipality’s participating beaches. During the event, the objectives, scope and methodology were presented to verify compliance with international criteria related to water quality, environmental management, safety, services, infrastructure, information and environmental education.
This process brings together municipal authorities, representatives of the Blue Flag Programme, service providers and participating institutions, strengthening coordination to maintain the standards established for participating beaches. The Municipal Government, headed by Engineer Julio Cárdenas, reaffirms its commitment to beach conservation, environmental protection and responsible, sustainable tourism management aimed at providing safe, clean and high-quality spaces for residents and visitors.
