PUBLIC CONSULTATIONS HELD FOR THE URBAN DEVELOPMENT OF SANTA MARÍA HUATULCO AND BAHÍAS DE HUATULCO

The first public consultations gathered residents’ views on urban planning and development in Santa María Huatulco and Bahías de Huatulco.

The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, led by Engineer Julio Cárdenas, in coordination with the Ministry of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development (SEDATU) of the Government of Mexico and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Communications of the Government of the State of Oaxaca, held the first public consultation sessions for the Municipal Urban Development Program of Santa María Huatulco and the Urban Development Program for the Bahías de Huatulco Population Center.
The sessions took place in the Former Presidents’ Hall at City Hall and at the Municipal Agency of Santa Cruz Huatulco, creating opportunities to hear directly from residents and learn their opinions, proposals and concerns about the territory, growth, planning and development opportunities in the municipality. Public participation is essential to building a vision for the future that reflects the voices of those who live in and know Huatulco.
