Protecting Our Wildlife: Institutions Trained in Turtle Conservation

Huatulco's Municipal Government received training on sea turtle conservation. ZOFEMAT, Civil Protection, and Public Security personnel are trained for effective protection.

With the aim of strengthening the conservation of sea turtles in the beach area, the Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, presided over by Eng. Julio Cárdenas, received training from Tortuguero Huatulco PE, titled “Sighting, Assistance, or Accompaniment of Sea Turtles.”

Personnel from ZOFEMAT, Civil Protection, Lifeguards, and Municipal Public Security continue to receive frequent training to strengthen inter-institutional coordination and ensure that protection efforts are carried out comprehensively, effectively, and in accordance with current regulations.
