To ensure clean, safe spaces in balance with the natural environment, a cleanup day was held at Maguey Beach, addressing the sandy strip, access points, adjacent areas, and the seabed, with the aim of removing waste that poses a risk to wildlife and reef ecosystems. Participants in this activity included ZOFEMAT, restaurateurs, nautical service providers, street vendors, snorkelers, oyster farmers, and taxi drivers from the "Bahía Maguey" site, who managed to collect 243 kg of waste (23 kg organic and 220 kg inorganic).
The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, presided over by Eng. Julio Cárdenas, through the ZOFEMAT Directorate, continues to promote maintenance and conservation actions for our beaches, strengthening the environmental management of the destination and promoting the care of coastal ecosystems for the benefit of the community and visitors.
