Water Quality Monitoring in Certified Beaches

Santa María Huatulco's Municipal Government conducted sea water quality sampling on certified beaches to ensure user safety and promote recreation.

The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, led by Eng. Julio Cárdenas, through the ZOFEMAT directorate, carried out the sea water quality sampling for the month of March, as part of the follow-up to the Blue Flag, NMX-AA-120-SCFI-2016 Sustainable Clean Beach, and Platinum Beach certifications.

These actions allow for the evaluation of water sanitary quality, timely detection of possible microbiological or chemical contaminants, and ensuring safe conditions for users, promoting recreational activities such as swimming and the responsible enjoyment of our beaches.
The sampled beaches were:

  • Blue Flag: Santa Cruz, Pescadores, and Chahué.
  • Sustainable Clean Beach (NMX-AA-120-SCFI-2016): Órgano and Chahué.
  • Platinum Beach: Violín and La Entrega.
