Preventive Measures in the Huatulco River Due to Mortality of Chacales

The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, presided by Ing. Julio Cárdenas, through the Health Department, coordinated a verification and cleaning tour in the Huatulco River, from the Community of Barrio la Soledad to Hondura del Toro, due to the presence of specimens of River Shrimp (chacales), dead. The specimens were collected and transferred to a suitable site in accordance with sanitary protocols.

These actions had the participation of the Municipal Police and health assistants from the communities of La Erradura and Paso Ancho.
The population is urged to avoid the consumption of this species during the next weeks, as a preventive measure of public health.
