Due to the suspension of the municipal solid waste (MSW) collection service and the temporary closure of the Final Disposal Site, the Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, in coordination with the Municipal Agency of Santa Cruz Huatulco, will implement an extraordinary garbage collection day in the Comprehensive Planned Center (CIP) area, in order to mitigate the effects of this contingency and avoid further effects on the population.
Given this situation, we call on citizens to support us by avoiding taking their garbage to public roads, as this could generate a greater health and pollution problem, especially now that a tropical storm is approaching, which could significantly worsen the situation.
We know that this situation represents a challenge for everyone, so we ask for your understanding and collaboration, as we are redoubling our efforts to address this problem as soon as possible.
We also urge you to separate waste from homes and establishments, in order to reduce the volume that reaches the final site and contribute to the protection of the environment and our ecosystems.
