Within the framework of World Wetlands Day, the Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, presided over by Eng. Julio Cárdenas, in collaboration with the Subcouncil of Culture for Conservation, carried out an environmental education day on the El Órgano Trail, within Huatulco National Park, with the participation of students from the Lic. Adolfo López Mateos Primary School.
During this activity, an environmental interpretation walk was conducted, where children learned about the importance of wetlands, their ecological function, the biodiversity they host, and their fundamental role in the balance of ecosystems. Additionally, sea turtles were released, reinforcing the message of respect, care, and conservation of the environment.
This significant day was made possible thanks to the joint work of the Subcouncil of Culture for Conservation, comprised of Huatulco National Park, the Municipal Sustainability Directorate, the Municipal ZOFEMAT Directorate, Costa Salvaje, El Tortuguero Huatulco, P.E. Rancho Colibritzin Huatulco, and the COATL Community Group.
