The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, led by Eng. Julio Cárdenas, reaffirms its commitment to the environment following the visit of SEMARNAT Undersecretary, Dr. Marina Robles, where the adoption of 11 beaches within the National Cleaning and Conservation Strategy 2025–2030, promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, was formalized.
Thanks to citizen participation and collaborative work with the three levels of government, 30 cleaning days have been carried out, collecting over 1,345 kg of waste and preventing the emission of 2.7 tons of CO₂.
Huatulco is moving steadily towards a sustainable future, with clean and plastic-free beaches, consolidating itself as a national benchmark in responsible tourism and environmental conservation.
