Promotion of Art and Creativity in Huatulco's Childhood
Huatulco's Municipal Government held an Eco-Engraving Workshop for children during Easter, fostering artistic and creative skills. Works will be exhibited for Children's Day.
The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, presided over by Eng. Julio Cárdenas, through the Council of Social Development, in coordination with the Directorate of Education and the three Municipal Public Libraries, carried out the Eco-Engraving Workshop for girls and boys during the Easter holiday period.
This workshop was taught by the plastic artist and itinerant workshop leader, Lic. César Jarquín Díaz, in the Margarita Maza de Juárez, José Vasconcelos, and Coyula public libraries, with the aim of fostering artistic and creative skills in the children of our municipality.
In a playful way, the participants learned the fundamentals of engraving as an artistic discipline and, through drawing, design, and texture exercises, created their own matrix using recycled material (Tetrapak) with the drypoint technique, to later print their works using safe and age-appropriate processes.
The works created will be exhibited soon as part of the Children's Day celebration, highlighting the talent and creativity of our girls and boys.
