Fostering Creativity and Learning in Bajos de Coyula
The “La Camarota” pinhole photography workshop in Bajos de Coyula fosters children's creativity and learning, exploring photography from its origins.
The pinhole photography workshop “La Camarota” was held at the Public Library of the Bajos de Coyula Agency, taught by plastic artist César Jarquín, with the participation of children from the community. This activity, promoted by the Social Development Council in coordination with the Education Directorate of the Municipality of Santa María Huatulco, took place from March 18 to 20, 2026.
The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, presided over by Eng. Julio Cárdenas, continues to promote learning and development spaces for children. During the workshop, participants learned about the functioning of the photographic camera from its origins, built their own cameras with recycled materials, explored the behavior of light, and performed manual image development, in addition to experiencing a habitable darkroom.
