The ZOFEMAT Directorate, in coordination with Juan Jacobo Rousseau Secondary School, carried out the environmental education activity “Knowing Our Waste: Cleanup and Classification at Chahué Beach,” with the aim of strengthening environmental awareness and fostering youth participation in conservation actions.
During the day, beach cleanup activities, waste classification, and an interactive talk on the impact of solid waste and plastic on marine ecosystems were conducted, successfully collecting a total of 26 kilograms of waste. Through these actions, the Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco continues to promote initiatives that encourage environmental education, citizen participation, and the responsible care of our coastal ecosystems.
