Environmental Education in the Classroom as Part of FESTUR 2026

Elementary school students joined an environmental talk and received native plants to grow on their school grounds.

As part of the 5th edition of FESTUR, the Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, led by Eng. Julio Cárdenas, held an environmental education talk with students from Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Elementary School in the municipal seat.
During the activity, students learned more about the richness of our ecosystems, the importance of conserving local birds, and protecting sea turtles. The school community also received native plants to adopt and plant on school grounds, helping create greener, more participatory spaces.
These initiatives foster respect for biodiversity and care for our natural environment from an early age.
