Creating spaces to talk is also caring

Huatulco’s DIF promoted mental health and the importance of talking, asking for help, and supporting one another without judgment.

The Municipal DIF System of Santa María Huatulco, chaired by Lic. Jazmin Villar, held the talk “The importance of mental health in suicide prevention” through the Juntos Creando Redes de Apoyo program. The session was addressed to second-grade students at Technical Secondary School No. 61, creating a space for reflection on the importance of expressing their feelings, asking for help, and supporting one another without judgment.
Because behind every person there is a story that deserves to be heard. Sometimes, a conversation, a word of support, or simply letting someone know “I’m here” can open a door to hope.
