The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, presided over by Eng. Julio Cárdenas, in coordination with the Subcouncil of Culture for Conservation, commemorated World Environmental Education Day in the community of El Faisán, with activities aimed at strengthening environmental awareness from childhood.
During this day, workshops, dynamics, and recreational activities focused on the care of terrestrial and marine ecosystems, waste separation, wildlife conservation, and the reduction of plastic use were carried out. Participants in these actions included: the ZOFEMAT Directorate, the Sustainability Directorate, Costa Salvaje, El Tortuguero Huatulco, Rancho Colibritzin Huatulco, Huatulco National Park, the COATL community group, as well as mothers, fathers, and children from the community.
These activities reinforce the importance of early education to promote responsible practices and a culture of environmental conservation in Santa María Huatulco.
