The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, presided over by Eng. Julio Cárdenas, supported the International Lifeguard Certification, aimed at personnel from Civil Protection and Huatulco Firefighters, as well as members of the Surf Guides Association, held on January 26 and 27.
This training was provided by the Ensenada Fire Department, Baja California, and sponsored by the Ben Carlson Foundation and the Alfa 2h2o Foundation. International instructors Francisco Pfeifer, Rubén González, Armando Andrade Vargas, and Greg Eisele participated, sharing specialized knowledge in emergency care and response.
During the certification, topics such as Basic Life Support endorsed by the American Heart Association, CPR and AED use, as well as trauma management under the S.A.L.T. protocol, were addressed, strengthening the capabilities of personnel responsible for aquatic safety and rescue.
With these actions, the Municipal Government reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the preparation and professionalization of personnel who protect the integrity of residents and visitors on the beaches of Santa María Huatulco.
