Fire Attention and Control in the Municipality

Fire Attention and Control in the Municipality

Huatulco's Municipal Government addressed two fires in Arroyo Xúchitl and Bajos de Coyula. Citizens are urged to prevent fires during the dry season.

The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, presided over by Eng. Julio Cárdenas, through the Environmental Services Brigade, promptly responded to two fires recorded in the localities of Agencia de Arroyo Xúchitl and Bajos de Coyula, on March 20 and 21, respectively.
Thanks to the timely intervention of Civil Protection and Firefighters of our municipality, in coordination with CONAFOR, communal authorities, and brigade members, both incidents were controlled, preventing further damage. Citizens are urged to avoid burning trash and activities that could cause fires, as we are currently in the dry season.

Recommendations to prevent fires:

  • Avoid burning trash or grasslands
  • Do not throw lit cigarette butts
  • Do not leave bonfires unsupervised and make sure to extinguish them completely
  • Keep land clean and free of dry material
  • Immediately report any incipient fire to the authorities

Prevention is everyone's task. Let's take care of our environment and our community.
