Santa Cruz Huatulco: Celebrating National Conservation Day
The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco celebrated National Conservation Day with a cleanup at Playa El Órgano and environmental education.
Within the framework of National Conservation Day, the Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, led by Eng. Julio Cárdenas, through the Directorate of the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone (ZOFEMAT), carried out a day dedicated to environmental protection and the conservation of coastal ecosystems.
With the cooperation of students from COBAO Plantel 22 Huatulco (Group 501), the activity began with a cleanup at Playa El Órgano, where 40 volunteers collected 4.785 kg of waste. Subsequently, students received an environmental education talk on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the impact of solid waste, and the importance of adopting responsible habits for the care of coastal areas.
The Municipal Government recognizes and celebrates the active participation of youth in actions that strengthen environmental awareness and commitment to a cleaner and more sustainable Huatulco.
