Huatulco, Host of the National Forum on Tourist Beaches and Coastal Ecosystems
Huatulco hosted the National Forum on Tourist Beaches and Coastal Ecosystems, an interinstitutional meeting for management and conservation.
The interinstitutional meeting for the management and conservation of beaches and coastal ecosystems is successfully held.
This important meeting brings together the three levels of government, as well as specialists, institutions, organizations, and actors from the tourism and environmental sectors, with the objective of analyzing and proposing solutions to challenges in the management, handling, planning, and conservation of beaches and coastal ecosystems, within the framework of sustainable tourism.
Thanks to coordinated work and the support of the Council and the Directorate of Tourism, Huatulco hosted this dialogue space that strengthens interinstitutional collaboration and the exchange of experiences in favor of environmental protection.
The forum featured the participation of prominent personalities, including: Marina Robles García, Undersecretary of Environmental Policy and Natural Resources; Dr. Patricio Carlos Carezzana, Head of the Tourism Information and Policy Unit; Silvia Morimoto, Resident Representative of UNDP in Mexico; Biol. Alfredo Arellano, Director General of the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone; Dr. Margarita Caso, Director General of Seas and Coasts; Lic. Luz María Zaleta, Secretary of Tourism of Veracruz; and Mtra. Obdulia Magdalena Torres Abarca, Secretary of Environment and Natural History.
Throughout the sessions, keynote speeches, thematic working tables, expert panels, and interinstitutional dialogue spaces were developed, which allowed for enriching proposals and strengthening joint actions for the conservation of one of the country's most valuable natural resources.
