The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco commemorated the 195th Anniversary of the Death of General Vicente Guerrero Saldaña, a key figure in Independence.
The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, led by Eng. Julio Cárdenas, commemorated the 195th Anniversary of the Death of General Vicente Guerrero Saldaña, a key figure in the consummation of Independence and a symbol of justice and loyalty to the nation.
The civic ceremonies took place in the municipal seat of Santa María Huatulco and at Playa La Entrega, with the participation of naval authorities, municipal authorities, members of the City Council, City Hall staff, educational institutions, emergency services, and citizens, in an atmosphere of respect and civility. This date holds deep significance for our municipality, as national history was also written in Huatulco: General Vicente Guerrero was handed over at Playa La Entrega and subsequently executed in Cuilápam de Guerrero in 1831.
Remembering him is to recognize ourselves as a living part of our history and to reaffirm his legacy, which continues to guide our actions: "The homeland comes first."
