Environmental Cleanup and Protection Actions at Arrocito Beach

Huatulco's Municipal Government, via ZOFEMAT, conducted a cleanup at Arrocito Beach, collecting 26.335 kg of waste to protect the coastal ecosystem.

The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, through the ZOFEMAT Directorate, carried out a cleanup day at Arrocito Beach, with the aim of removing solid waste from the beach area, dunes, and access points, reducing sources of marine pollution—especially plastics and single-use waste—and preventing their entry into the sea, thus contributing to the protection of the coastal ecosystem and marine fauna.

As a result of this activity, 26.335 kilograms of waste were collected, with the participation of ZOFEMAT personnel, street vendors, the Arrocito Cooperative, and service providers, who worked in a coordinated manner to detect and prevent sources of contamination. These actions reinforce the Municipal Government's commitment to environmental conservation, community work, and the responsible care of Huatulco's beaches.
