Environmental Cleanup and Care Actions at Playa Pescadores
Huatulco conducted a cleanup at Playa Pescadores, collecting 10.470 kg of waste. This strengthens environmental care and complies with Blue Flag criteria.
The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, headed by Eng. Julio Cárdenas, through the ZOFEMAT Directorate, carried out a cleanup day at Playa Pescadores, as part of ongoing actions to strengthen environmental care and comply with the environmental criteria of the Blue Flag distinction, promoting proper waste management, preventing coastal ecosystem pollution, and active community participation.
As a result of the day, 10.470 kilograms of waste were collected, with the participation of ZOFEMAT staff and 9th-semester students of the Bachelor's Degree in International Relations from the Universidad del Mar. These actions contributed to maintaining clean, orderly, and safe beaches, consolidating Huatulco as a sustainable and responsible tourist destination.
