3rd Meeting of the Local Coordination Body (OCL) for the Hydrocarbon Spill Drill in Santa Cruz Bay, Huatulco

Huatulco's Municipal Government attended the 3rd OCL Meeting to strengthen coordination for hydrocarbon spill response and minimize risks.

The Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco participated in the Third Meeting of the Local Coordination Body (OCL), held at the facilities of the Twentieth Naval Zone in this City and Port, with the active participation of MARINA, DEFENSA, GN, ZOFEMAT, State Traffic Police, Municipal Agency of Sta Cruz Huatulco, Public Security, ASIPONA Huatulco, Red Cross, Civil Protection, as well as representatives from Huatulco National Park and Universidad del Mar.
The main objective of this interdisciplinary meeting was to strengthen inter-institutional response coordination mechanisms in the event of a possible hydrocarbon spill in the local maritime zone, in order to promote the preparation and training of participating entities and minimize risks to the population and natural resources through the execution of a drill.
With these actions, the commitment of the Secretariat of the Navy to the protection of the marine environment and the necessary interaction with agencies from the three levels of Government for the benefit of the Mexican community, and especially the Huatulco community, is reaffirmed.
