194th Anniversary of the Death of General Vicente Guerrero
The Municipal Government commemorates the 194th Anniversary of the Death of General Vicente Guerrero in Santa María Huatulco and Playa La Entrega.
On the occasion of the 194th Anniversary of the Death of Vicente Ramón Guerrero Saldaña, the Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, presided over by Eng. Julio Cárdenas, carried out two Civic Acts: the first in the Municipal Esplanade of Santa María Huatulco, and the second in La Entrega Beach, Santa Cruz Huatulco.
La Entrega Beach is a historical site of great relevance for our country, since it was in this place where General Vicente Guerrero was betrayed and handed over in 1831, marking one of the most tragic episodes in our history. Vicente Guerrero, insurgent leader and second president of Mexico, distinguished himself by his tireless fight in favor of freedom and equality, promoting the abolition of slavery and defending the ideals of social justice. His capture and subsequent execution not only put an end to his life, but also turned him into a symbol of resistance and patriotism.
Each year, we commemorate his legacy in this emblematic space, remembering that his sacrifice was key in the construction of our nation. Honoring his memory is reaffirming the commitment to the values he defended: freedom, justice and equality.
